Join us at The Continental Jazz Club’s Jazz Weekender to celebrate the bank holiday with a range of jazz music.
Here is a run down of the fabulous acts we have on offer!
Saturday 28th August
Mamadou And The Libidor Band
An exciting mix of afro jazz, afro beat, Senegalese mbalax and salsa rhythms. Stunning vocals, sabar drumming, violin, flute, saxophone, guitar and keyboards. Entry at 8.30pm in the events room. Tickets are £6. Tickets are available from the Continental Bar or call 01772 499425.
Sunday 29th August
Alan Wormald Band (from Shakatak)
The guitarist from 80's jazz funk band Shakatak comes to The Continental. He is joined on the night by Simon Goulding on bass and Mick Wake on drums. Starts at £9pm in the main bar. We ask for £3 donations from customers.
Monday 30th August (Bank Holiday)
Free Parking & The Jazcek Syndicate
At 1pm we have The Jazcek Syndicate - a brand new jazz quartet from the Pretson Jazz Orchaestra. They are followed at 4pm by Free Parking - who include Keith Ashcroft, Harold Salisbury and Gary Culshaw. We ask for donations of £4 from customers.
It should be a fantastic weekend of music!
The Continental's 5th Beer Festival
7th to 9th October.
Over 100 beers, ciders and perrys. Speciality food and entertainment.
