The Continental Jazz Club is very excited to announce its first visit from world class Tenor Sax talent Mike Hope – backed up by some of the very cream of the North West jazz scene.

Over the years Mike has worked with Jack Jones, Matt Monroe Junior, John Wilson and the Halle Orchestra. He is also a member of the Empress Orchestra which plays for the British and World Dance Championships. As a jazz musician Mike has performed with Jack Sheldon, Bobby Wellins, Julian Joseph, Phil Woods, Bobby Shew and Julian Arguelles and currently has three diverse albums to his name. He joined the Syd Lawrence Orchestra as first tenor in October 2006.

At Sunday 25th’s Jazz Club, Mike hooks up with bass supremo Gary Culshaw (Free Parking / Some Other Country), drum lord Steve Gilbert (Stevie Williams / S.O.C) and pianist Paul “who he hasn’t played with isn’t worth knowing” Kilvington for a night of sizzling jazz standards you’re unlikely to forget.

Starts at 9pm in the main bar. We ask for donations of £3.
