UK Subs / Wasted Life / The Poly-Esters

UK SUBS

As we've already had Discharge, GBH, 999The Vibrators, Subhumans, Chelsea and more down here, so one could say it was only a matter of time before we were graced by a visit from Charlie Harper and his mighty UK SUBS. Now that time has come!

With 2016 marking the Subs’ 40th anniversary; this legendary punk band continues to represent the true spirit of punk rock. Inspired by The Damned at the birth of British Punk, the now equally legendary Harper formed the Subs out of his then R&B outfit The Marauders, late in 1976.

The worldwide touring regime has continued apace - including the USA, Europe and Japan as the band continue to entertain and amaze with their powerful live shows. With a new fabulous line up in place of Charlie, Steve Straughan on guitar, Alvin Gibbs on bass and Jamie Oliver (no, not that one) on drums, the UK Subs continue to entertain, enlighten and enthuse with blistering recordings and enthralling live shows.

Like a vintage wine, the UK Subs just get better and better.

WASTED LIFE

"Wasted Life have a passion for punk that rages from within. It’s what brings their tunes to life so they make you punch the air and act like a dick. But that’s the thing about punk rock, or great punk rock anyway, when it comes directly from the heart it will hit you full in the face and knock you down for the full ten. And that's true of any band operating in any genre. Nobody will believe in your music if you don’t believe in it yourself. And Wasted Life are really starting to believe."

Phil King - Mudkiss

THE POLY-ESTERS

This Blackpool based four piece are a new, abrasive take on British Riot Grrrl with a furious mix of heavy riffs, gritty vocals and grungey roots.

The vocals are a frenetic shared affair semi-fronted by mouthpiece Syphi-Lizz (bass) giving pure, rough arsed abuse, offset by the siren sounds of the sultry Catlow (guitar) and the lovely Lola-Fenix (guitar) delivering raw burn and driving it through to the bitter end. All of this is brought together with some solid beef on drums from little minx, Elliska.
