“…sharply perceptive … incredibly enjoyable … fantastically sinister …” Exeunt magazine

Included in Lyn Gardner’s ‘top tickets’ theatre blog in the Guardian.

There are secrets in the walls and under the floorboards and behind locked doors.
We know that because we learnt it from the movies.
We learnt everything we know from the movies.

In this startling and hilarious show, LaPelle's Factory tear up the conventions of cinema with a cocktail of fiery mania, razor-wire wit and dangerously seductive smiles.  Precariously balanced right on the edge of sanity, the company confronts love, obsession and their secret urges to do terrible things.

Presented somewhere between a killer night out and a cosy movie night in on the sofa, CLOUDCUCKOOLANDERS is charming and messy with a compelling streak of pitch black humour.  Like a bad taste horror flick, it'll set your teeth on edge in the best possible way.

You may even get popcorn.

LaPelle's Factory is the creative partnership between theatre makers Olwen Davies and Ollie Smith. Together they make exciting and strange performances that question expectations, relationships and modern ideals. Prior to founding LaPelle's Factory, Olwen and Ollie made work as solo artists and collaborators.  Both have worked with a variety of other artists and companies in various roles including Michael Pinchbeck,  Zoo Indigo, Forced Entertainment, Reckless Sleepers and El Conde de Torrefiel.

“LaPelle’s Factory are a refreshing duo making playful work that delves deep into the human condition. Ollie and Olwen’s impressive individual experience as performers and theatre makers can be clearly seen not only in their performance but the way they approach making their work.” Ruby Glaskin, Creative Producer, In Good Company

CLOUDCUCKOOLANDERS is supported using public funding by Arts Council England with additional support from In Good Company (Derby/Leicester/Mansfield), Hatch (Nottingham) and the HUB (Leeds).
