Damson Poets

Damson Poets is on the 27th November and will be held in the Snug at the Continental. This month we welcome Martin Domleo and Amy Lee Tempest.
 
There will be open mic slots for people to sign up for on the night. Each slot is a maximum of 5 minutes. The start time is 7-30pm and we finish at 9-30pm. Free entry.

Martin Domleo has been short-listed in four international poetry competitions, including two poems in the 2018 Bridport Prize. His poem Sunderland Point won the Dickens Two-Hundred Writing Prize in 2012.
 
He has had six books published - three collections of poetry, two novellas and a novel. His latest novella The Rest Is Silence has been translated into Chinese and published in China. His illustrated narrative poem The Desk, which he self-published in 2006, remains among his favourite works. A founder member of Damson Poets, he enjoys a wide spectrum of interests, including painting in oils.
 
Amy Lee Tempest is a performance and spoken word poet whose poetry sequence ‘Wallpaper’ was shortlisted for the Lancashire Arts Festival 2018. She is currently working on a commissioned piece for the Burnley Literary Festival and an experimental poetry exhibition for Openings, Burnley.
