The Continental's monthly Jazz Jam night takes place again on Wednesday 14th. Bring your instruments along no matter what your ability or just come and listen to some great live jazz in a relaxing environment.

Last month's event was very successful, with a great atmosphere and great versions of some of the gold-plated classics.

An evening of groove-fueled jazz from the top-flight bassist and his group. Stevie Williams has played with everyone from Tanita Tikarum to the Hothouse Flowers and Alexander O’Neil and past band members have included Mike Walker, Iain Dixon and Stuart McCallum of The Cinematic Orchestra.

Expect appearances from Harold Salisbury (sax), Neil Carr (sax) John Bailey (guitar), Crispin Mockler (guitar), Tom Wilson (keys), Norman Helm (bass) and Chris Jopson (drums) along with many more of the performers from last month.

Leyland based social business CXL is hosting a charity music night in aid of a local charity. The ‘band aid’ event is in support of the Lancashire Young Carers charity, CXL’s corporate charity for 2009/10. This event is open to all members of the public who wish to help out this very worthy charity.
