Word Soup: Some Dead Good Poetry on the theme of Friendship - Thursday 26th January 2012 8pm - £3 entry

The first LWH live lit event of 2012 headlines with fabulous poet and performer JO BELL, and Jo will be joined by the fabulous Dead Good Poets from Blackpool, plus the talents of Steve Jansen and Sue Seddon, aka Nigella Ladylumps.

BIG SEXY NOISE was formed in 2008 and features Terry Edwards (Madness, Spiritualized, Siouxsie, Robyn Hitchcock) James Johnston (Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds 2003-2008, Faust) and Ian White (Barry Adamson), collectively known as Gallon Drunk, and the uncompromising Lydia Lunch who has collaborated with an encyclopedia of musical originators including Sonic Youth, Nick Cave, Henry Rollins, Einsturzende Neubauten and most recently Alan Vega and Omar Rodriguez Lopez of Mars Volta.

The Continental Book Club meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7.30pm in The Snug at The Continental.
Works by Jane Austen, Truman Capote, Isabel Allende, Kazuo Ishiguro and many more have been read and discussed by the group since it started in the Autumn of 2009.
At each meeting books are either recommended, or people just say that they wish to read a certain book, so all those mentioned are put forward and everyone can have a vote.

ScRibble are a friendly group who meet once a month to share creative writing. They're a group of mixed abilities and experiences - some have had pieces published, some have done courses, others just have a go in their spare time - but they all enjoy reading and sharing the pieces we have created.

Headlining at Cauldron Soup on Thursday 27th October we have the extraordinarily talented JO BELL - poet, performer, project manager, and producer.
Jo has been Director of National Poetry Day in the UK since 2006, and co-programmed the Ledbury Poetry Festival – the UK’s largest! - this year, and the Lancashire Writing Hub are thrilled to have Jo at Word Soup!
