about Us

Food, Drink & Culture on Preston's Riverside.

The Continental was Camra West Lancashire Pub of the Year 2010 & 2011, with a range of six changing ales, including a house beer especially brewed for us by Marble Beers, artisan ciders, speciality European and US beers both on tap and in bottle, award-winning wines from Byrne’s of Clitheroe, a great range of soft drinks and the best beer garden in town.

Our regional, seasonal kitchen serves up restaurant quality fresh food with daily specials and favourites, and we’re the indie culture venue of choice in Preston with cinema, theatre, music and more on weekly in our arts space.

Situated on the banks of the Ribble, just a brief walk away from the city centre and adjacent to picturesque park land, The Continental is an oasis of fine food, drinks and atmosphere. We hope to see you sometime soon.

Staff - Who's who at The Continental

General Manager – Lisa Rowlands

It’s Lisa’s hard work behind the scenes that makes everything at The Continental run as smoothly as it does. Lisa is the smiling face of the venue, doing everything in her power to make your visit as pleasant as possible. If you want to book a table, or have any questions about your meal or the venue, speak to Lisa at lisa@newcontinental.net or on 01772 499 425

Head and Second Chef - Stephen Kerfoot & Deborah Kerfoot

Steven and Deborah came to The Continental after many years working together in various kitchens all over the north-west. Immediately before joining us, they were chef/proprietors of the Running Pump in Catforth, where they built up a reputation for being one of the best pub/restaurants in the area. Their philosophy of food is to use the best ingredients from small family suppliers, traditional recipes (with a twist), cooked fresh to order: a philosophy we’re sure you’ll agree with once you’ve tried their delicious meals.
